Every Caribbean and Bahamas cruise on this schedule is a Royal Caribbean sailing from Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne, New Jersey. Most are 7-night Perfect Day trips to the Bahamas. The longer ones go further south: 11 and 12-night island voyages in January, summer trips that combine Bermuda with the Eastern Caribbean, and one-way trips to Florida in the fall of 2027.
We sort sailings by their ports, not by the name the cruise line gives them. A trip whose only stops are in the Bahamas and Florida is a Bahamas cruise. A trip with a stop on any Caribbean island is a Caribbean cruise, even when it also calls at CocoCay or Bermuda. The table at the end of this guide lists the Caribbean sailings; the Bahamas destination page lists the rest.
What Bahamas cruises leave from Bayonne, NJ?
Seven-night round trips to Perfect Day at CocoCay and Nassau, on Odyssey of the Seas in the cooler months and Oasis of the Seas in summer and fall 2027. Most also stop at Port Canaveral, Florida, on the way down. On 4 November 2026 they started at $786 per person, for the cheapest cabin listed, with taxes and port fees included.
- Odyssey of the Seas sails Sunday to Sunday in November and December, then again from February to April, in both winters on this schedule. Its 7-night trips run from 8 November 2026 to 2 April 2028.
- Oasis of the Seas sails from 7 May 2027 to 24 October 2027, on Fridays in May and early June 2027 and on Sundays from late June.
- Odyssey also sails an 8-night Saturday trip each February, which adds a second day at sea on the way out and a longer day at Port Canaveral.
The Christmas and New Year weeks on Odyssey follow the same route under a "Holiday" name. Our holiday cruises page lists them with the other holiday sailings.
What is the itinerary of a 7-night Bahamas cruise from Bayonne?
Out to sea for a day, Port Canaveral in the afternoon of day 3, CocoCay and Nassau on days 4 and 5, then two days at sea home. The Oasis trips that leave on Fridays drop Port Canaveral, spend two days at sea each way, and visit Nassau before CocoCay.
| Day | Sunday departures, with Port Canaveral | Oasis Friday departures, May and June 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Leave Bayonne, 3pm | Leave Bayonne, 3pm |
| 2 | At sea | At sea |
| 3 | Port Canaveral, noon to 8pm | At sea |
| 4 | Perfect Day at CocoCay, 8:30am to 5pm | Nassau, 7:30am to 5:30pm |
| 5 | Nassau, 7:30am to 5:30pm | Perfect Day at CocoCay, 7am to 5pm |
| 6 | At sea | At sea |
| 7 | At sea | At sea |
| 8 | Bayonne, 6am | Bayonne, 6am |
Odyssey's trips from November 2027 leave Port Canaveral at 7pm and reach CocoCay at 8am; the other times match. On the 8-night February trips the ship spends 7am to 7pm at Port Canaveral on day 4 and keeps the same CocoCay and Nassau days after it.
The trade-off is plain from the table. A Sunday trip with Port Canaveral has three days at sea and three ports. A Friday Oasis trip has four days at sea and two ports, with up to an hour and a half more at CocoCay. On this schedule 53 sailings from Bayonne call at Port Canaveral and 60 at CocoCay.
What is Perfect Day at CocoCay?
Royal Caribbean's private destination in the Bahamas, open only to its guests. Royal Caribbean says entry is free, along with dining at five food spots and the beach chairs and umbrellas, and that some experiences cost extra.
As read on Royal Caribbean's pages on 4 November 2026, the free parts include:
- the beaches and pools at Chill Island, South Beach, Harbor Beach, Breezy Bay and Oasis Lagoon
- Splashaway Bay, which Royal Caribbean calls the free waterpark, and Captain Jill's Galleon
- food at Snack Shack, Chill Grill and Skipper's Grill, with water and basic juices
- beach chairs, umbrellas and hammocks, and volleyball, basketball, soccer and table tennis
Royal Caribbean lists these as extra:
- Thrill Waterpark
- day passes to Hideaway Beach, which is for guests 18 and over, and to Coco Beach Club, which needs its own pass
- the zip line, the Up, Up & Away helium balloon and Jet Ski tours
- cabanas, daybeds, floating mats and snorkel gear
- alcohol and soda, unless you have a beverage package, which Royal Caribbean says works on the island
The pages we read gave no prices for the paid parts, and Royal Caribbean's FAQ says cabana prices change regularly with the season and promotions. The same FAQ puts the walk down the pier from the ship to Arrivals Plaza at about 6 minutes, with a free tram up and down the pier, and says you can bring drinks from the ship but not in glass bottles.
What can you do at Port Canaveral and Nassau on a Bahamas cruise?
At Port Canaveral the ship is in for seven or eight hours on the 7-night trips, from noon to 7 or 8pm. The Canaveral Port Authority points visitors to Jetty Park Beach and Pier, the Cocoa Beach Pier a short drive away, and the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex nearby.
At Nassau the ship stays about ten hours, from 7:30am to 5:30pm. Nassau Cruise Port says the port is at the center of downtown Nassau and the Straw Market is a few steps away. It lists guest services, shops, restaurants and free Wi-Fi in the port.
Which Caribbean cruises leave Bayonne in the winter?
Odyssey of the Seas sails long island voyages back to back each January, in 2027 and again in 2028: an 11-night Eastern Caribbean trip, then an 11-night and a 12-night Southern Caribbean trip. Each spends three days at sea on the way down and three on the way back, with four or five islands in between.
| Leaves Bayonne | Nights | Islands, in order | Back in Bayonne |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sunday 3 January 2027 | 11 | St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Kitts, St. Thomas | Thursday 14 January, 6am |
| Thursday 14 January 2027 | 11 | St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Kitts | Monday 25 January, 6am |
| Monday 25 January 2027 | 12 | Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Antigua, St. Lucia, St. Maarten | Saturday 6 February, 6am |
| Sunday 2 January 2028 | 11 | St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Kitts, St. Thomas | Thursday 13 January, 6am |
| Thursday 13 January 2028 | 11 | St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Kitts | Monday 24 January, 6am |
| Monday 24 January 2028 | 12 | St. Kitts, Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Maarten | Saturday 5 February, 6am |
The island days run on consecutive days, mostly from about 8am to 5 or 6pm. In January 2027 the 12-night trip starts with Puerto Plata from 7am to 3pm and reaches St. Thomas at 11:30am. With six days at sea on each, these trips suit people who like the ship as much as the islands.
The voyages fill the gap between Odyssey's Bahamas seasons, so the ship goes straight from one to the next. On 4 November 2026 the 11-night trips started at $1,308 and the 12-night ones at $1,399 per person.
Which summer cruises from Bayonne go to the Eastern Caribbean?
Independence of the Seas sails 8 and 9-night "Bermuda and Eastern Caribbean" trips from May to August 2027, and Oasis of the Seas a 9-night trip in June that adds Puerto Plata to the CocoCay week. All are round trips from Bayonne.
Independence of the Seas, 9 nights, leaving on a Thursday:
| Day | Stop |
|---|---|
| 1 | Leave Bayonne, 3pm |
| 2 | At sea |
| 3 | Royal Naval Dockyard, Bermuda, 8am to 4pm |
| 4 | At sea |
| 5 | Philipsburg, St. Maarten, noon to 7pm |
| 6 | San Juan, Puerto Rico, 7am to 2:30pm |
| 7 | Grand Turk on 10 June; Labadee was listed on 8 July and 5 August, 9:30am to 5pm, but is suspended |
| 8 and 9 | At sea |
| 10 | Bayonne, 7am, a Saturday |
Cruisebound still listed Labadee in Haiti on the July and August trips on 4 November 2026. On 2 November 2026 Royal Caribbean said it had suspended all Labadee visits fleetwide through April 2028, and that it would tell affected guests about itinerary changes before they sail. It did not name a replacement stop, so our sailing pages show those two trips without one.
The 8-night trip leaves on Wednesday 19 May 2027, spends two days at sea, calls at Grand Turk from 8am to 4pm on the Saturday, then stays overnight in Bermuda from 9am on Monday to 5pm on Tuesday before coming home on the Thursday. Our Bermuda guide covers the Dockyard.
Oasis of the Seas leaves on Friday 18 June 2027 for 9 nights: two days at sea, Nassau on the Monday, CocoCay on the Tuesday, a day at sea, Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic from 7am to 3pm on the Thursday, and two days at sea home to Bayonne on Sunday 27 June at 6am.
Are there one-way cruises from Bayonne to Florida?
Yes. On this schedule 2 sailings leave Bayonne one way at the end of October 2027: Independence of the Seas to Miami and Oasis of the Seas to Fort Lauderdale. Both last 9 nights.
| To Miami | To Fort Lauderdale | |
|---|---|---|
| Ship | Independence of the Seas | Oasis of the Seas |
| Leaves Bayonne | Thursday 28 October 2027, 4pm | Sunday 31 October 2027, 4pm |
| Stops | Bermuda Saturday 8am to 4pm, Aruba Tuesday 10:30am to 6pm, Grand Cayman Thursday 10am to 6pm | Aruba from 4pm Thursday to 11pm Friday, Curaçao Saturday 7am to 4pm |
| Days at sea | 5 | 5 |
| Ends | Miami, Saturday 6 November, 7am | Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale, Tuesday 9 November, 6am |
The Oasis trip spends its first three days at sea and then a night in Aruba. On 4 November 2026 the one-way trips started at $709 per person. Count the flight home from Florida before you compare that with a round trip.
PortMiami says Miami International Airport is 7.1 miles from the port. Port Everglades says Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is 1.8 miles from its port and Miami International 27 miles south. Royal Caribbean says passport books are required for one-way and repositioning cruises, so these need one even though they start and end in the United States.
Do you need a passport for a Bahamas or Caribbean cruise from Bayonne?
For the round trips, U.S. citizens can sail without one, but a passport is the safer document. U.S. Customs and Border Protection says U.S. citizens on a closed-loop cruise, one that starts and ends at the same U.S. port and stays in the Western Hemisphere, may come back with a government-issued photo ID and proof of citizenship.
Royal Caribbean's passport guide, published on 9 October 2026, calls the Bahamas one of the most accessible closed-loop options and still recommends a passport. CBP warns that the countries a ship visits may ask for one, and that U.S. citizens need a passport to enter the United States by air from the Caribbean, which matters if you have to leave the ship on an island and fly home. The passport card is not accepted for international air travel.
The one-way trips to Miami and Fort Lauderdale need a passport book, as above. Our cruise documents guide has the details.
When is hurricane season for Caribbean and Bahamas cruises from Bayonne?
NOAA's National Hurricane Center gives the Atlantic hurricane season as 1 June to 30 November, with the peak on 10 September and most activity between mid-August and mid-October. The January voyages and Odyssey's February to April Bahamas weeks sail outside it.
The Oasis weeks from June to October, the June to August Eastern Caribbean trips and the one-way trips in late October all fall inside the season, and the Oasis weeks of late August to mid-October in its busiest stretch. Odyssey's November trips come at the end of it. Our Bayonne cruise season guide shows what leaves in each month.
