Short cruises from Bayonne, NJ: 3-day, 4-night and 5-night cruises

A short cruise from Bayonne means four or five nights on Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas, in the summer of 2027. Nothing shorter from Cape Liberty is on the schedule we track, and from November to April the shortest trip is a week.

Are there 3-day cruises from NJ?

No. Every sailing on this site leaves from Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne, New Jersey, and when we checked on 4 November 2026, none was shorter than 4 nights. There is no 2 or 3-night trip on the schedule we track, and no cruise that leaves on a Friday and comes back on a Sunday.

The nearest thing to a long weekend is a 4-night trip to Halifax, Tuesday to Saturday, or a 5-night trip to Bermuda, Thursday to Tuesday or Saturday to Thursday.

The sailing times show why nothing is shorter. On Cruisebound's itineraries, a 4-night trip spends about 78 hours sailing to Halifax and back, by our arithmetic, which is more than three days before any time ashore. Bermuda takes slightly longer.

What are the shortest cruises from Bayonne?

Two trips, both on Independence of the Seas: the 4-night Canada Getaway to Halifax and the 5-night Bermuda Getaway to the Royal Naval Dockyard. Independence sails them between her longer summer voyages.

When we wrote this, the Halifax trips left on 1 June, 29 June, 27 July and 24 August 2027. Most of the Bermuda trips leave on a Saturday, a few on a Thursday, from late May to late October.

What does a 4-night cruise from Bayonne to Halifax look like?

Two days at sea and one day in Halifax. The ship leaves Cape Liberty on Tuesday afternoon, docks in Halifax, Nova Scotia, from 8am to 6pm on Thursday, and is back in Bayonne early on Saturday.

What does a 5-night Bermuda cruise from Bayonne look like?

One full day at sea each way, and about a day and a half in Bermuda with a night docked there. Independence arrives at the Royal Naval Dockyard at 9am on the third day and leaves at 5pm on the fourth.

How many days off do you need for a short cruise from Bayonne?

Three or four weekdays. A Saturday Bermuda trip covers Monday to Wednesday and gets back at 7am on Thursday. The Thursday Bermuda trip and the Tuesday Halifax trip each cover four weekdays.

Three holidays fall on short trips in 2027. The Office of Personnel Management gives Memorial Day as 31 May, during the Bermuda trip that leaves on Thursday 27 May. Independence Day, 4 July, is the first sea day of the Bermuda trip that leaves on Saturday 3 July, and the federal holiday is observed on Monday 5 July, the day the ship reaches Bermuda. Columbus Day is 11 October, during the Bermuda trip that leaves on Saturday 9 October. Labor Day weekend has no short trip: the nearest leave on 28 August, back on 2 September, and on 11 September.

The dates also line up back to back. When we wrote this, each Halifax trip left on the morning Independence returned from a Thursday Bermuda trip, and came back on the morning of a Saturday Bermuda trip.

Is a short cruise from Bayonne cheaper than a 7-night cruise?

Cheaper to book, not cheaper per night. When we wrote this on 4 November 2026, the lowest 4 and 5-night fares were below the lowest 7-night fare, but both cost more per night than the cheapest 7-night trips.

Each figure is the lowest at that length, so the figures come from different dates and routes. When we wrote this, the lowest 9-night fare belonged to a one-way trip to Miami, which leaves you to pay for the trip home.

Some costs grow with the number of nights whatever the fare. Royal Caribbean's FAQ, read on 4 November 2026, gives the daily gratuity as $18.50 per guest outside suites and $21.00 in a suite. For two people in a standard cabin, by our arithmetic, that is $148 on a 4-night trip, $185 on a 5-night trip and $259 on a 7-night trip. The cheap and last-minute guide covers the other extras.

Are there short cruises from Bayonne in winter?

No. From November to April the only ship at Cape Liberty is Odyssey of the Seas, and her shortest trip is 7 nights. Celebrity's shortest trip from Bayonne is 7 nights.

What is the next step up from a short cruise from Bayonne?

A week, and there is plenty of choice. The schedule lists 71 7-night sailings, most of them leaving on a Sunday, and Royal Caribbean and Celebrity both run them.

• Odyssey of the Seas, November to April. A sea day, then Port Canaveral, Perfect Day at CocoCay and Nassau, then two sea days home.
• Oasis of the Seas, May to October 2027. Two sea days, then Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay, then two sea days home.
• Celebrity Silhouette in May and June 2027, Celebrity Summit from 30 April to June 2028. Two sea days to Bermuda, three days at the Royal Naval Dockyard, then one sea day home. On Silhouette's 2 May 2027 itinerary she is docked from 8:30am on day 4 to 4pm on day 6, about 55 hours by our arithmetic.

The Celebrity trips are the ones to compare with the 5-night Bermuda Getaway: two extra nights buy about 23 more hours at the island. Are there weekend cruises from Bayonne?

Weekend departures, yes. Weekend round trips, no. Most sailings from Bayonne leave on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, and the weekend cruises page lists them, but the shortest of them is the 5-night Saturday trip to Bermuda, back on Thursday.
